Sessions & Classes

Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates uses a piece of equipment called a Reformer to add resistance to Pilates exercises. This workout challenges not only the main muscle groups, but is unique in that it focuses on strengthening stabilizing muscles, such as the core, pelvic floor, and back, as well. Reformer Pilates can be adjusted to most any ability level and condition.

Reformer Pilates is available as private one-on-one appointments, doubles, and in group classes of up to 4 clients.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is done on the floor with limited equipment. It is a great introduction to Pilates, and can be done in a group setting. Mat Pilates improves core strength, body awareness, and flexibility.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa yoga flows from one pose to the next using the breath. This class includes Sun Saluations, balancing poses, and deep stretching. Poses in this class can be modified to suit most ability levels.

Power Vinyasa Yoga

Power Vinyasa yoga is a fun, fast paced class that uses upbeat music and heat to help practitioners sweat and flow. This class is high energy and explores some more difficult poses and sequences. This class is great for practitioners that have done yoga before and are looking for a challenge.

Registration is for 4 sessions at a time (usually one month) and new sessions typically start the first Thursday of the month. Cost is $29. Please register through the Business and Community Education department, or online at Course Search: "Yoga".

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a very slow paced class designed for deep relaxation. We use props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks to support poses held for long periods of time. Restorative yoga can help improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost the immune system. Practitioners leave this class feeling safe, secure, and restored.

Group Health Coaching

Group Health Coaching classes cover a different topic each month and are a hybrid of discussion and lecture. Getting together with a group of people with similar goals can be incredible helpful on your road to a healthier lifestyle.

The focus of this class is getting practical tips on how to live a healthier life. If your goal is to lose weight, this class will certainly help, but weight loss isn't necessarily the focus. I believe changing your lifestyle to get healthier over time is a much more satisfying and sustainable way to live healthier and feel better!

Topics include:

  • Nutrition

  • Exercise

  • Meal planning & Grocery Shopping

  • Stress management

  • Sleep habits

  • Home & life organization

... and more! This class will go on indefinitely as long as there is interest. We will eventually circle back around and repeat topics when needed.

First Monday of each month at 5:30pm. Hosted by McCook Community College, with just a $12 registration fee!
